About different special forces units. Canton Bern: Successful competition of Special

On Tuesday, 16 October to Thursday 18 October 2012 organized by the Bern cantonal police conduct an international comparison of various competitions police special forces. A total of 14 teams from three countries. They measured in eleven complex exercises, which were to be completed in different locations in the Berne and Thun. The special unit of gentian Bern cantonal police stood as an organizer himself not in use during the exercises.

All training facilities are so realistic as possible and took a high physical and psychological demands on the participants. So it was for example in difficult conditions people to evacuate from a building.

In the overall standings reached the German SWAT Baden-Württemberg first place, before the task force Cobra from Austria and the police special forces team concordat Northwestern Switzerland. The aim was next to the sports comparison, the exchange among the special units and a location determination.

The competition was funded by the police concordat Northwestern Switzerland (PKNW) as part of the regular budget of the participating cantons of Aargau, Basel-Stadt, Basel-Land, Solothurn and Bern.
